Mount Academy's girls soccer team wins another Section 9 title with a 4-0 shutout

Mount Academy's sectional run reached another title

  1. 2021–22Mount Academy won back-to-back state Class D championships.
  2. 2023The Eagles won their third straight title after moving up to Class C.
  3. 2024–25The Eagles won consecutive Section 9 titles in Class B.
  4. 2025The Eagles finished 19-0 and reached the state semifinals.
  5. Oct. 31The Eagles beat Our Lady of Lourdes 4-0 in the Class A final.

If you follow sports, Mount Academy had a big week. The second-seeded Eagles beat top-seeded Our Lady of Lourdes 4-0 in the Class A girls soccer final Saturday, Oct. 31, at Wallkill High School. Sophiat Hassan scored twice, and Carina Page and Temitope Adejumo added goals.

It's a familiar spot. Mid Hudson News looks back at the program's run: state Class D titles in 2021 and 2022, then sectional titles in Class B, then an unbeaten 2025. This year's team did it without star striker Brooke Huleatt, who scored 100 goals last season and is now a freshman at Harvard.

  • State soccer: Mount faces the Section 1 champion; time and place not set
  • Volleyball: Mount won its fifth straight title, unbeaten in the league
  • Volleyball playoffs: Mount is the No. 1 seed in Section 9 Class B
  • Highland football: beat Spackenkill 36-29, earned a Class C title-game bye

We have all seen the numbers.

“Millions of dollars spent on election advertising. I propose a bill that for every dollar donated to a politician or party 50% goes to the general fund of the jurisdiction involved. So a donation at the town, county, state etc the respective town, county, state would collect 50% for their tax base. This wouldn't stop…”
