ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A man jumped from the Walkway Over the Hudson on Wednesday night around 7:30 p.m. near the elevator and landed on the contaminated Central Hudson property between Upper Landing Park and the One Dutchess apartment complex—police, fire, and EMS responded and confirmed his death by 8 p.m. Mid Hudson News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Seven people were charged in Middletown as part of a bust of a drug pipeline that trafficked crystal meth, cocaine, and fentanyl from Mexico to the Hudson Valley over about three years—one suspect was also charged with murdering an innocent bystander during a gang-related fight in Newburgh in 2019. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State funding of $100,000 was delivered on Tuesday to Mayor Yvonne Flowers to help purchase new mowers and a pickup truck for the Parks & Recreation crew at Spratt Park — the funds, secured in 2018, will equip the DPW team without using city money. Mid Hudson News
- ➤ The Hudson Valley Patriots for Immigration Reform sent letters to nearly all Putnam County leaders to protest ICE raids that have left local immigrant families scared — they urged lawmakers to stop raids near schools, hospitals and churches. The only response came from Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg, who called the tactics dangerous and asked the federal government to reform immigration laws soon. Mid Hudson News
