Distinguished Speaker Series at SUNY New Paltz: An Evening with Melissa Murray

About this event

We the People: What the Constitution Demands of Us

In her timely and thought-provoking presentation, Melissa Murray will examine the enduring obligations at the heart of our constitutional order and ask a fundamental question: What does it mean to be a citizen in a constitutional democracy—and are we meeting the challenge?

Since 2008, the SUNY New Paltz Distinguished Speaker Series has enriched the university and the broader Hudson Valley by bringing nationally and internationally recognized voices from literature, public affairs, and popular culture to campus. These thought-provoking presentations draw students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members together, generate media attention, and provide students with meaningful opportunities to engage directly with influential leaders and thinkers.
