  • East Fishkill PD advised residents to secure packages + remain alert this holiday season amid a national rise in package thefts, while the New York State Sheriff's Association warned against online shopping scams.   • Angelina Jolie is filming her new dark-thriller Sunny (about a female gangster protecting her sons) in Dutchess and Orange Counties until late January, adding excitement to the Hudson Valley film scene.  WRRV
  • Newburgh Brewing Company will host Eggbert After Dark, an adult-only event where the famed talking Christmas egg entertains visitors with candid commentary from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22 from 4-10 p.m. without reservations or an entrance fee.  Hudson Valley Post

  • After three months of the cellphone ban, school administrators in Hudson Valley report increased classroom engagement — students are interacting more and teachers say lessons are clearer. Educators will continue monitoring the policy’s effects as the school year progresses.  WRRV

  • Hospitals in the Hudson Valley updated their mask policies as flu, RSV, and COVID cases rise. Unvaccinated visitors are asked to wear masks when entering health care facilities — check with each hospital for current guidelines.  Hudson Valley Post
