  • Employees from HONOR celebrated National Youth HOPE Month in November at A Friend’s House & provided vital support for runaway and homeless youth. The shelter at 138 Seward Avenue in Middletown offers 24-hour care for those aged 17 & younger.  Mid Hudson News

  • Law & Order: Special Victims Unit filmed earlier this week in Blauvelt, with Assemblyman Mike Lawler sharing behind-the-scenes photos that show a production boom boosting local restaurants and businesses.   • Staff photographer Patrick Oehler captured the first snowy week, showing Town operations with salt spreader calibrations on Dec. 1, school snow shoveling on Dec. 2 and holiday light shows on Dec. 4 at Heritage Financial Park and Union Vale. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dutchess Community College and SUNY Delhi have signed an agreement to streamline transfer for Electrical Technology graduates into the BT in Mechatronics Technology program; the deal includes a new ($32M) applied technology facility set to open in 2030 at SUNY Delhi.  Mid Hudson News
  • Ten students from Hyde Park Central School District earned spots in the Zone 19 Area All-State Festival after a rigorous selection process by NYSSMA — they performed in Mixed Choir, Treble Choir and String Orchestra concerts at Arlington High School on Nov. 22.  Mid Hudson News

  • Congressman Mike Lawler hosted Dr. Mehmet Oz (CMS administrator) at Dominican University on Friday, Dec. 5, with local hospital leaders to discuss changes to Medicare and Medicaid.
