  • Price Chopper is offering a $40 Thanksgiving meal deal for AdvantEdge Rewards cardholders that will serve 10 people—this bundle includes a 13-pound turkey, sides, and dessert ingredients while shoppers also earn extra rewards and help local food banks through a donation drive. CULTURE NEWS

  • Dining critic Shannon Lee said that dinner at Mohonk Mountain House was disappointing because the included $145 three-course meal had long wait times and bland dishes, and the rushed service hurt the experience. She noted that the hotel’s storied setting did not make up for the poor food (the review was based on a Halloween weekend visit).  Times Union
  • Martha Stewart joined 13 judges at Stissing House in Pine Plains to taste 33 homemade pies in a judging contest+the panel picked Dutch Apple, Shaker Lemon and a pumpkin or sweet potato pie as winners while Martha said the process was fun and challenging.  Hudson Valley Post

  • A new study by Robin Hood and Columbia University found that most New Yorkers are cutting back on food and necessities as rising prices drive families to tighten budgets — even households with incomes over $150,000 reported struggles in affording basic items.  Hudson Valley Post

  • New York Attorney General Letitia James reminded Hudson Valley residents today of their rights to keep heat and hot water this winter amid Central Hudson’s recent rate increase. The protections include an extra effort—requiring at least 15 days’ notice and safeguarding vulnerable households—ensuring utilities do not shut off service for those at risk.  Hudson Valley Post
  • Kei trucks are growing in popularity in Ulster County, yet New York’s strict safety and emissions rules make it hard to register these small vehicles—local dealers now offer alternative routes like out-of-state LLC options for buyers.   • The New York Public Interest Research Group has released its 2025 'Trouble in Toyland' list, which shows dangerous toys that may have choking hazards, lead content, toxins, and even A.I. features—Emma Paulsen from SUNY New Paltz said past reports led to about 150 recalls to boost toy safety as new threats emerge.  Mid Hudson News
  • The New York State Department of Health reported flu cases increased by 78% in one week and hospital stays rose by 53%—with Westchester, Orange and Dutchess counties seeing the highest numbers.   • Section 1 coaches announced all-section awards for boys soccer after a strong season where four local teams reached state semifinals — the honors include league MVPs, coaches of the year, and honorable mentions in Leagues A through O, with standout Jero Velasquez named League A MVP.
