- ➤ Poughkeepsie residents can vote on their favorite Thanksgiving pie with choices including pumpkin, apple, and pecan (the online poll offers various options) in a contest that closes at noon on Nov. 21 (results will be shared in a later story). Poughkeepsie Journal

- ➤ Price Rite Marketplace launched a Thanksgiving deal with two shopping guides that list ingredients for meals feeding 8 to 10 people at about $40 and offers a price match on frozen turkeys until Thanksgiving Day. The move comes as food prices rise—an effort similar to promotions by other grocery chains. Daily Voice
- ➤ Market 32 and Price Chopper will offer a Thanksgiving dinner bundle for 10 for $40 with an AdvantEdge Rewards card. The bundle includes national brands and PICS favorites and will be available at all 129 stores and online with pickup from Nov 25 to 27 — shoppers also can earn bonus rewards and help fill plates for local food banks. - ➤ Darkside Records will open its new store on Cannon Street Friday at 10 a.m.—the music retailer moved from its Dutchess Turnpike location after a full restoration and will host a listening party Saturday at 6 p.m. to thank its longtime customers. WRRV

- ➤ Eric Decker joined the Poughkeepsie Journal as its new sportswriter, returning home to cover local games and athletes (he grew up in Red Hook and honed his skills at Kentucky and in Athens). His background promises a fresh view of sports in our community. Poughkeepsie Journal
- ➤ Senior running back Landon MacDougall played hard on Saturday when he scored two touchdowns, one on a run + one on a shovel pass, to help Saugerties win 22-21 over Port Jervis. Coach Nick Bernard said MacDougall’s hard hits set the tone for the team, which will play Sleepy Hollow in the state playoffs at 3 p.m. on Saturday, and he will play at Robert Wesleyan University next year.
