- ➤ Dutchess County voters will choose from a broad slate of candidates—including City of Poughkeepsie Council, County Comptroller and Legislature seats—in the fall election on Nov. 4. Early voting runs from Oct. 25 until Nov. 2 and polls will open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Poughkeepsie Journal
- ➤ New York state law requires landowners to post 11-inch signs every 660 feet along property boundaries to warn trespassers. Trespassers who ignore posted signs face fines up to $250 or up to 15 days in jail — the DEC warns. Hudson Valley Post
