Toys R Us will open new standalone stores at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets + Westchester locations, Tanger Outlets, and Walden Galleria this holiday season as it expands its presence in the Hudson Valley.
The chain plans to offer popular toy brands to mark its major comeback since the 2017 bankruptcy.

Marist University and IBM will launch an innovation incubator in Poughkeepsie that gives students and faculty hands-on experience with AI and emerging technology.
The facility features an IBM z17 mainframe for interdisciplinary projects in marketing, polling (and civic engagement) as part of their longstanding partnership.
🏛️ Government
Eligible New Yorkers will begin receiving energy rebate checks up to $200 under the POWER program this week; the amount depends on 2024 tax details + payments are mailed automatically to qualified residents.
Tilcon New York Inc. will repave 6 miles of Route 9 in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie starting Oct.
19 — much of the work will occur at night with lane closures and is set to finish by Sept. 30, 2027.
