- ➤ Dutchess County awarded $2.45M from its Housing Trust Fund to develop and preserve over 100 affordable rental units in Poughkeepsie and Amenia—projects include an 81-unit building on Main Street and a duplex designed for households earning 30% to 80% of the area median income. Times Union
- ➤ On Monday, Poughkeepsie welcomed six new police officers and two firefighters at a swearing-in ceremony. Two officers were lateral transfers from NYPD while four will begin training at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Police Academy on September 15, and the firefighters (James Boyles and Michael Ross) have started a 22-week program that now brings the force to 87 officers and 53 career firefighters.
