CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, former Montebello podiatrist Ira Bernstein pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence in a plot to kill his wife—he was previously convicted in 2016 and will be sentenced in December. Hudson Valley Post
- ➤ Daniel Monarchi, a 26-year-old teacher from Red Hook, was arrested on federal charges for allegedly pressuring minors into creating sexual images and videos on Discord—officials say the case involves a 13-year-old and two 14-year-olds. Hudson Valley Post
- ➤ Daniel Alan Monarchi — known as mrteacherman — was arrested on Aug. 22 on federal charges in Dutchess County after he allegedly used Discord to send explicit photos and messages to at least three middle school students at Haviland Middle School in Hyde Park between September 2024 and February 2025.
