  • On Saturday, the Continental Village Fire Department celebrated 75 years with Community Day featuring food trucks — live music and fun activities planned by volunteer firefighters for two months.   • Attorney General Letitia James took legal action against 39 online ammunition sellers last year for shipping bullets to New York residents without required record keeping—issuing cease and desist orders and warning of potential fines for each violation.  WRRV

  • Last year, Attorney General Letitia James told 39 online ammunition sellers to stop shipping ammunition to New Yorkers—sellers face fines up to $5,000 per violation.  WPDH
  • Congressman Pat Ryan will host his third annual Fall Service Academy Information Session from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 13 at Marist University’s Dyson Center at 30 John Winslow Drive in Poughkeepsie—students, parents and educators interested in service academy nominations are invited to attend.  Mid Hudson News
  • State officials have cut funding for the EmPower+ program that pays for energy-efficiency upgrades to low- and moderate-income households from about $220 million today to $80 million by 2027 after a new order from the Public Service Commission.
