- ➤ A man with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg drove himself to Montefiore St-Luke’s-Cornwall Hospital after being shot near Heritage Financial Park — Dutchess Stadium at 8:30 p.m. Saturday along 45 Pappas Lane in Wappinger, and the sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call 845-486-3800. - ➤ Poughkeepsie resident Maham Rahman was accepted into the Peace Corps and will leave for Fiji on September 5 to begin training as a community economic development facilitator — the 2025 Vassar College graduate joins 177 New York volunteers in service. Mid Hudson News
- ➤ State Senator Rob Rolison urged Parole Board Chairman Daryl Towns to reject a proposed rule change that would lessen restrictions on violent offenders who committed crimes as minors — a change he said risks public safety. The proposal is open for public comment until October 12. Mid Hudson News
