State Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force — executed a search warrant at a Smith Street commercial property using a gas-powered saw to access the rear building while investigating possible remains from a past crime linked to On the Spot Taxi. - ➤ Joseph Rico, 50, of Poughkeepsie pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery at a Burger King on Windsor Highway in New Windsor on March 27 — he pistol-whipped an employee and stole her phone before fleeing — and he will face a recommended 15-year prison term when sentenced on October 14. - ➤ Joseph Rico, a 50-year-old from Poughkeepsie, pleaded guilty in Orange County Court to first degree robbery after he stole a phone at gunpoint from an employee at a New Windsor fast food restaurant on March 27 and used a pistol to force the employee to the ground—he will be sentenced on Oct. 14.
