- ➤ On Saturday, a three-wheeled adaptive bike from the Cycling Without Age movement passed through Putnam County on its way to Poughkeepsie and stopped at Mahopac Chamber Park where parishioners from the Church of the Holy Communion greeted passengers and riders—part of a free ride program for seniors. The nonprofit operates 750 bikes nationwide and is launching a $10,000 fundraiser to keep the service running. Mid Hudson News

- ➤ A two-alarm fire on Freedom Plains Road displaced several residents and slowed traffic on Route 55 as firefighters from LaGrange, Poughkeepsie, and Arlington quickly extinguished the blaze in a Cape Cod-style home around 8 p.m.—with no injuries reported and the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division investigating the cause. - ➤ Central Hudson faced widespread backlash after applying for another rate increase, and State Senator James Skoufis—along with Congressman Pat Ryan and Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger—said the move adds financial strain on local families while calling for a major overhaul of the PSC.
