- ➤ Rombout Assistant Fire Chief John Lucariello collapsed at a Fishkill fire on Aug.11 at 5:19 a.m. and was flown to Westchester Medical Center—after resuscitation attempts revived him—where he remains in critical condition. Poughkeepsie Journal
- ➤ A woman was struck by a car and killed Tuesday morning near Myers Corners Elementary School on Myers Corners Road around 9 a.m.—state troopers are investigating the wreck as the road remains closed. Mid Hudson News

- ➤ Central Hudson Gas and Electric’s proposed rate hike plan will increase gas bills by 3.7% and electric bills by 7.3% over three years and include $2.8 million in executive bonuses; the Public Service Commission will vote on the plan tomorrow in Albany to support infrastructure and cybersecurity improvements. 1450 WKIP

- ➤ Priceline ranked the Hudson Valley as the best US place for watching fall leaves in 2025 based on hotel searches from October 10 to 24. - ➤ Wegmans is recalling its Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese and related products after a supplier alert indicated a possible Listeria contamination—customers who bought the items should return them for a full refund. - ➤ The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released its updated Five-Star Quality Rating System in which 29 New York hospitals earned the lowest one-star rating—some in the Hudson Valley were included.
