- ➤ AC John Cronk and FF Eddie See (from Pleasant Valley Fire District) were named Firefighters of the Year by FASNY for saving a mother and two children from a house fire (October 13th, 2024). WRRV
- ➤ Discounted tickets for the Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck are available online until midnight on August 18 with adult admission at $15 and ride wristbands for $30 plus extra fees. The fair runs from August 19—August 24 and offers food, live music, and rides while children 11 and under enter free. 1450 WKIP
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Councilman Christopher Grant, 37, was arraigned on a violent felony assault charge after he allegedly punched a 69-year-old man during his riverfront Caribbean Fest on August 2 and issued a partial apology for his actions — he is now required to report weekly to the Dutchess County Department of Probation until his case is resolved. - ➤ Central Hudson has partnered with the Mid-Hudson Library System to offer a free HomeBoost kit that gives residents a camera for smartphones and detailed instructions to find areas in their homes where energy efficiency can improve. Customers with a valid library card and active service will borrow a kit and later receive a personal report with rebate ideas — a tool to help lower energy bills. Mid Hudson News
