  • On Sunday night in Poughkeepsie, police responded to two shootings when a basketball game at Hulme Park was interrupted by multiple gunshots—one female attendee was hit in the leg while another person was shot in the buttocks near the Rip Van Winkle tower, drawing assistance from Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and hospital transports.  Mid Hudson News
  • A 40-year-old woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to her leg on the 300 block of Main Street in Poughkeepsie on Friday, July 18—police said the shooting also hit an occupied store and vehicle and that no arrests have been made.  Daily Voice

  • Public meetings will be held in Kingston next month to discuss Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha’s bill that proposes a government takeover of Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation by establishing the Hudson Valley Power Authority—designed to modernize infrastructure and keep rates low.  1450 WKIP

  • On July 17, the FDA announced that Florida-based Rich’s Ice Cream Co. recalled 110,292 ice cream bars that may have listeria; the recall affects products sold in 23 states including New York and began on June 27 from lot numbers 24351 to 25156.
