- ➤ Daniel Mochon of the Hughsonville Fire District was named Youth Mentor of the Year by the Firemen’s Association for his work reviving Explorer Post 45 that trains young future firefighters. - ➤ State and local officials recently toured Sojourner Truth State Park in Kingston, where a spring-fed quarry will be transformed into a swimming area with a 12,000-square-foot wading zone and a deeper free-swim section, as part of a $76 million project that adds a bathhouse pavilion, picnic area, and trails—Lake Sophia is set to open next summer.
