- ➤ On Tuesday at 8 p.m., a Wingdale woman was rescued after her car left Route 312 in Southeast and slid down a steep incline with live electric wires on top—Brewster firefighters and Putnam Sheriff's Department freed the driver who is 20 and she was taken to Danbury Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ An arbitrator ruled that Porpiglia Farms must implement a union contract for its 120 apple orchard workers, boosting wages and benefits with the contract set to run from Aug. 1 until July 31 — but the owners have rejected the ruling, saying it conflicts with H2A rules. The dispute began after union certification in 2023 and has now continued a two-year fight over the unionization process. Times Union
