- ➤ A Poughkeepsie man was arrested after he was seen urinating on the sidewalk outside Warring Elementary School on Thursday, June 27 — detectives found multiple debit and electronic benefit cards with names that did not match his and he now faces charges for public urination, public lewdness, and criminal possession of public benefit cards. - ➤ JustAir and Bard’s Community Sciences Lab introduced a new dashboard that gives Hudson Valley residents real-time air quality data from sensors in Annandale-on-Hudson, Kingston, Poughkeepsie and Newburgh. The tool lets users compare sensor readings and set pollution alerts (each sensor costs $500 a year) as efforts continue to fill gaps in air quality monitoring. Times Union

- ➤ At its June 26 meeting the Poughkeepsie Town Planning Board stayed neutral on a six-month cannabis dispensary moratorium—leaving the town board to decide after a public hearing on July 16 when residents will share input. 1450 WKIP
- ➤ Today, Poughkeepsie uses an AI dash cam system by Samsara to monitor city vehicles in real time — the system spots risky driving and speeding to improve road safety and save taxpayer money. 1450 WKIP
- ➤ Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office announced on June 26 that the state invested $1 billion to build or preserve nearly 3,000 affordable homes in 15 communities, including nearly 500 affordable apartments in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley. In Poughkeepsie, $36 million will be used to rehabilitate Rip Van Winkle Apartments—an 18 story building with 179 units—to fully electrify the property. Daily Voice
