- ➤ A Poughkeepsie driver, Rohan Patrick—who pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide after fatally striking Bard College student Linh Hong Nguyen on May 25th, 2024 at 10:24 p.m. in Red Hook—was sentenced to 364 days in jail by Dutchess County Court on June 17th. Poughkeepsie Journal

- ➤ SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. launched the SUNY Reconnect initiative at Dutchess Community College on June 16—offering free college education to New Yorkers aged 25–55 in high-demand fields with no tuition, fees, books, or supplies to pay, aimed at boosting workforce skills and the local economy. - ➤ Farms in Dutchess and Columbia counties will receive over $3 million from the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure grant program to upgrade facilities and boost local food supply chains.
