- ➤ PETA’s Hell on Wheels truck—showing images of crowded chicken crates—will blast recorded cries of dying chickens and a secret vegan message every 10 seconds outside Tortilleria Allison on Sunday, June 15 at 12 noon. - ➤ Tyler LeClerc, a Hudson Valley martial arts instructor, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal sexual act in the third degree, one count of attempted sexual abuse in the first degree and two counts of forcible touching involving child victims—plea reached after the victims' parents asked to spare their children from testifying—and he will face a 10 to 12 year prison sentence. - ➤ New York Attorney General Letitia James announced that her office has launched an Election Protection Hotline to help voters with in-person, absentee, and early mail ballots for the June primary. - ➤ Area airport supporters are concerned about Play Airlines’ plan to leave the U.S. market at Stewart International Airport, saying the Port Authority is not doing enough to attract more air service. Paul Quartaro of the Stewart Airport Commission compared Stewart’s 3,000 annual flights to 3,000 daily flights at larger airports — a gap that, along with Heather Bell-Meyer’s call for more domestic and international service, will become pressing as Play ends Newburgh flights on September 1.
