  • The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is asking for help to reconnect a lost dog found on patrol in Rhinecliff with its owner; anyone with information is urged to call (845-486-3800).  WPDH
  • Wappinger will launch its first Farmers Market on Monday, June 22 at Town Hall on Middlebush Road, featuring 19 local vendors offering fresh produce. The market will run weekly for 19 weeks & aims to bring neighbors together.  WRRV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kaplan Career Academy in Wappingers Falls will build an inclusive playground for students with special needs. The project will create a safe outdoor space — designed for sensory play and community support — and relies on local sponsors and businesses for funding.  WRRV
  • WRRV is seeking current college students and recent grads with a love for music to host an hour-long segment during its weekly College Radio Night for Hudson Valley listeners. Interested applicants must complete the entry form to be considered.  WRRV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Following a damaging April frost, Gov. Kathy Hochul said the USDA has been asked to designate disaster areas for farmers in parts of New York (including the Hudson Valley). Crop losses are estimated at over $30 million.  Hudson Valley Post

  • Mosquito season has arrived in New York today as the state ranks No. 3 for residential mosquito treatments, so residents in Poughkeepsie should cover skin, use repellents, and remove standing water from their properties + ensure window screens are intact to reduce the risk of bites and disease.  Poughkeepsie Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Monroe-Woodbury won its first Section 9 Class AAA championship in 36 years at Cantine Field in Saugerties on Saturday as Josh Konior returned from hamstring injuries and went 3-for-3 with three RBI. The team will face Mamaroneck in the state tournament quarterfinals at 7 p.m. this Saturday.  Mid Hudson News
