  • Kids Bowl Free returns this summer, offering kids (ages 2-12) two free games each day from Tuesday, June 9 to Friday, August 28 at local bowling alleys. Families may opt for a one-time Family Pass that covers up to four adults during program hours.  Hudson Valley Post

CULTURE NEWS

  • Eastdale Village is kicking off its free Movies on Main summer series with a Wicked-themed outdoor screening at the Eastdale Piazza. The event features themed photo backdrops (with Elphaba and Glinda) and live music, and it will continue monthly through September.  WRRV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • This week, New York voters approved 95 percent of school budgets statewide, though 21 districts (including some in our Hudson Valley) did not meet required thresholds. Voters also selected many NYSUT-endorsed board candidates to support strong public education.  WPDH

  • US Geological Survey warns invasive species will spread this summer as boats, camping and gardening increase movement near Poughkeepsie. Experts advise cleaning firewood and boats before use to protect local infrastructure and ecosystems.  Daily Voice
  • New York wildlife officials reported a historic shift in the 2025–26 deer season where more mature bucks were taken than younger ones — with crossbows accounting for 55% of archery kills. DEC officials warn that new rules may soon be proposed to boost doe harvests.  WPDH
