- ➤ Valley Central School District nurse Connie Griffin was honored as Healthcare Professional of the Year at the NYSUT convention in Albany last week+ the award recognized her 32 years of dedication to student health and her work to improve school nursing standards. Mid Hudson News
- ➤ Leon Botstein, Bard's longtime president, announced his retirement on Friday (following reports of past ties with Jeffrey Epstein) and will step down in June but continue at Bard as a teacher and musician. Mid Hudson News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The New York State Bridge Authority said one lane and shoulder on southbound U.S. Route 9 between Main and Laurel Streets will close overnight (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) May 4 through May 8 for Mid-Hudson Bridge deck demolition work. Motorists should slow down and follow posted signs. Mid Hudson News
- ➤ Attorney Steve Patterson was honored on Law Day, May 1, in Albany when he received the Attorney Professionalism Award for his pro bono work from the New York State Bar Association. The Mid-Hudson lawyer, who has practiced criminal defense for 30 years, is widely recognized for his professional service. Mid Hudson News
