  • The IBM West Campus in East Fishkill was redeveloped into a $64 million Mopar Parts Distribution Center by Stellantis, which opened the facility on April 24th using a modern AutoStore system — nearly 100 local jobs were created by the project — to boost service across the region.  Poughkeepsie Journal

  • Poughkeepsie police arrested 24-year-old Hudhayfah Abdullahi during a traffic stop on April 23 after a K-9 sniff detected crack cocaine, fentanyl, and over $2,000 in cash, and he was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance—his 26-year-old passenger was released.  Daily Voice
  • On April 24, New York police enforced Operation Safe Stop Day to catch drivers illegally passing stopped school buses—repeat offenders could face fines from $250 to $1,500 and possible license revocation.  1450 WKIP

ECONOMY NEWS

  • New York’s gas prices held steady last week at $3.02 per gallon for regular fuel, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said — a rate that is 7% lower than a year ago and about 3.8% below the national average. The price remains roughly unchanged from the previous week despite a small 1-cent rise since last month.  Poughkeepsie Journal

  • Town of Hurley will test a new system in May to remove dangerous PFAS chemicals from landfill leachate that has been getting into the Hudson River—Town Supervisor Michael Boms said the trailer setup will clean the leachate—before it is sent to Kingston’s wastewater treatment plant.  Mid Hudson News
