- ➤ Hudson Valley families attended a free spring planting class at Hurds Family Farm in Modena on Sunday, Apr. 19, where kids learned about planting, apple growing, and caring for animals. Poughkeepsie Journal
- ➤ SUNY Orange in Middletown and Newburgh will use nearly $30 million to update existing facilities and enhance student spaces starting in 2026 (as part of a three-phase master plan). The improvements include relocating departments and upgrading shared areas to better connect academics and career opportunities. Hudson Valley Post
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ More than $2 million in state funding will support local healthcare groups to improve dental & medical access for people with developmental disabilities. Grants benefit The Center for Discovery in Sullivan County, The Arc Mid-Hudson, Westchester Institute for Human Development and Cornerstone Family Healthcare in New City. Hudson Valley Post
- ➤ In March, the Dutchess County Health Department inspected 304 restaurants and found 61 with critical violations, 122 with no issues, and 185 with lingering problems from past visits (including local inspections in Beacon and Poughkeepsie). Poughkeepsie Journal
