- ➤ Congressman Pat Ryan is hosting a Medicaid speak out today at the Town of Poughkeepsie Senior Center from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. He invites local Hudson Valley residents to share concerns about declining care quality at Optum-owned practices (based on over 1,800 responses) and help push for better healthcare services. 1450 WKIP
- ➤ The Dutchess County Department of Public Works announced that work to improve the traffic signal at the intersection of Middlebush Rd and Sgt. Palmateer Way will begin the week of April 21 and is expected to finish in the fall; the project will upgrade the signal with a mast-arm mount, install a vehicle detection system and widen shoulders with lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists are advised to plan for delays and follow flagger directions for safety — extra travel time is recommended near the work zone. - ➤ In a prelude to the November race for Comptroller, Dan Aymar-Blair clashed with Legislature Chairman Will Truitt during a legislative committee meeting last week after Truitt requested his input on the governor's budget.
