- ➤ On April 9, the residential building at 11 N Hamilton collapsed with no injuries reported as officials evacuated 13 residents and planned demolition to begin tonight—closing North Hamilton between Main and the westbound arterial. Poughkeepsie Journal
- ➤ Teddy, a miniature horse, is recovering at Rhinebeck Equine Center after being hit by a train near Catskill early Wednesday, April 8, and a fundraiser has begun to cover his $7,500 treatment while investigators look into how he reached the tracks (another horse, Duke, remains missing). 1450 WKIP

- ➤ The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation says trapping and releasing raccoons without permission is illegal because it can spread rabies (which can lead to wider problems).
