- ➤ Nathan's Famous in the food court closed on Wednesday when its kitchen equipment was removed + the sign remained, marking a sudden end to the local outlet; the nearest location is now in Nyack. WPDH
- ➤ Veteran Ryan Law launched Freedom Fighters, a pretzel brand supporting service members and first responders, now available at SUNY New Paltz and Crew Restaurant & Bar with more local deals coming soon. - ➤ Local broadcasters 101.5 WPDH, MHA of Dutchess County, and Mid-Hudson Pump named the Corey G. Ingram Scholarship Fund as this month's Vets Who Rock recipient, adding $500 to support Poughkeepsie graduates. A *happy hour* fundraiser will take place at Mahoney's Irish Pub on April 24 from 6 to 10 p.m. WPDH
- ➤ Fifty high-school and BOCES students attended the inaugural Digital Dutchess career exploration event at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie on Friday, Mar. 27, where educators and local industry experts offered hands-on learning in computer science, AI, IT and cybersecurity. - ➤ Hudson Valley residents can join an air quality study from Bard Community Sciences Lab + Bard Lab at University at Albany by allowing sensors in their homes for one week; those who participate by Saturday, Apr. 18 will receive a $30 gift card. 1450 WKIP
- ➤ An EPA study reviewing five years of data found toxins such as lead+arsenic, benzene, and nitrate in over one-third of public water systems statewide, with 470 systems still in violation. Hudson Valley counties will offer free water testing to help residents monitor drinking water quality. WPDH
