  • The Spring Festival in Sugar Loaf will be held May 23 and 24 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and offers live music, local vendors, food trucks, a kids zone, a beer garden, and a dog-friendly area. The free event continues rain or shine and invites the community to welcome spring.  Hudson Valley Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In New York, Assemblymember Deborah Glick has proposed the Dark Skies Protection Act that would require all outdoor lighting+ to be shielded from 11 p.m. to sunrise beginning Jan. 1, 2028. The proposal allows exemptions for emergency and holiday lights.  Poughkeepsie Journal

  • The Poughkeepsie Journal has released its winter season Boys Basketball All-Stars, with Troy Speare of FDR Swimming earning top postseason performer with 50% vote share. Coaches submitted game info & player stats throughout the season to form the nominees.  Poughkeepsie Journal
