- ➤ Marist University student Arianna LeCruise, 19, died while studying abroad in London on Sunday, March 8 - her mother said funeral arrangements will be announced soon. Daily Voice
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A 2.3 earthquake shook Sleepy Hollow on Tuesday at 10:17 a.m. as more than 900 reports of shaking came from Westchester and Dutchess residents also felt the tremor. WPDH
- ➤ Residents in New Paltz reported a strong odor on March 8 that led to a 275-gallon oil leak from an apartment (the spill reached the Wallkill River), and forced residents to evacuate while crews contained the spread. WPDH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Potholes have worsened this year as winter weather damaged roads in the Hudson Valley. The New York State Department of Transportation advises drivers to call 1+800+POTHOLE to report dangerous state highway potholes while local streets require contacting each municipality. WPDH
- ➤ Officials announced the bridge over Webatuck Creek on Rudd Pond Road will close for construction starting Monday, March 16, forcing North East drivers to detour via Route 22 & White House Crossing Road; the 0.2-mile trip becomes 6 miles with 10 extra minutes. Hudson Valley Post

- ➤ The FDA has recalled oysters and clams harvested in Washington due to potential norovirus contamination (products from Drayton Harbor Oyster Company and Manila Clams from Lummi Indian Business Council were distributed to retailers in New York and elsewhere). 1450 WKIP
