ECONOMY NEWS

  • Dutchess Community College in Fishkill received nearly $2 million from a state training grant announced Friday to boost courses in electrical work, advanced manufacturing and HVAC — the funding will add microcredential programs and services like career counseling and job placement.  WRRV

  • On Friday, March 6, the United Food and Commercial Workers union urged New York lawmakers to ban digital shelf tags as Walmart readies plans to install them in 2,300 stores nationwide, warning that the technology could let prices jump during busy times.
