  • The famous Cousins Maine Lobster truck is set to visit the Dutchess County Board of Health at 85 Civic Center Plaza today (noon–5 p.m.). Locals can enjoy lobster rolls and other seafood specialties made with fresh Maine lobster.  WPDH

  • K&D Deli on Taft Ave abruptly closed Friday as the final outlet of the 40-year Hudson Valley deli empire, leaving loyal customers without their usual ham and swiss sandwich and split pea soup.  Hudson Valley Post
  • Duces Grill will debut its Wing Wednesday promotion in collaboration with local chef Roble starting this week at 10 Crannell St. Poughkeepsie residents can look forward to pop-up wing events (updates on Duces Grill’s Facebook).  WPDH

CULTURE NEWS

  • Six Hudson Valley chefs are recreating Titanic’s famed 11-course First Class dinner on Bannerman Island on May 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Only 40 tickets are available, with proceeds funding Bannerman Castle restoration.)  Hudson Valley Post

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Leon Botstein, who helped save Bard College from near-extinction, appears over 2,500 times in Epstein Files. He said his interactions with Epstein were solely for fundraising (from federal records) and that he did not know the extent of Epstein’s crimes at the time.  WPDH

HEALTH NEWS

  • A new flu strain is causing a second wave as New York State data shows cases up 16% with Westchester and other counties seeing increases. Health officials urge residents who have not been vaccinated to get a flu shot + follow other recommended health tips this season.  WPDH

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • At 331 Main Street, the Wallace Campus project—an affordable 187-unit housing development with a new pedestrian link to Mill Street—began demolition, with three buildings removed by Feb. 23 after receiving over $110 million in funding.   • Poughkeepsie's Victor Nelson III was named Player of the Year by the DCBCA on Feb. 24 after awards for the 2025-26 boys basketball postseason were announced, and top stars from other schools also received honors + playoffs are underway.  Poughkeepsie Journal
