- ➤ On Tuesday night, 15 state landmarks — including the Mid-Hudson Bridge near Poughkeepsie — lit red for Lunar New Year to honor the Year of the Fire Horse following Governor Hochul's directive to celebrate Asian traditions. WRRV
- ➤ On Tuesday night, landmarks including the Mid-Hudson Bridge shone red to mark Lunar New Year and honor Asian communities, as Governor Kathy Hochul said the display celebrated luck, joy and prosperity (colors tied to tradition) in the Year of the Fire Horse. WPDH

- ➤ Air quality worsened on Wednesday as stagnant winter air trapped pollutants in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley. Forecasts from the National Weather Service show winds picking up later today + air quality is expected to improve tomorrow. Times Union

- ➤ Ulster County naturalization ceremonies will resume on March 13 at 11 a.m. at the county courthouse in Kingston (after a December cancellation that drew local criticism) as officials plan further cultural celebrations in 2026. 1450 WKIP
- ➤ Flags were lowered across the Hudson Valley on Wednesday, Feb. 18 to honor former Congressman Richard L. Ottinger and Reverend Jesse Jackson following their passings; Governor Hochul ordered the tribute to recognize their service. WPDH

- ➤ Initiative Foods recalled its Tippy Toes brand (Apple Pear Banana) fruit puree in New York due to elevated patulin from mold and risk of nerve damage; health officials advise parents not to feed the product to babies and to return it for a refund.
