  • Pop In Laundry held its grand opening on Saturday, Jan. 31 from noon to 4 p.m. (51 Burnett Blvd near Stop and Shop Plaza) with free food and giveaways including bikes, TVs and laundry cards.  WPDH

  • The Vintage In The Hudson Valley Festival — 2 Days of Music, Finds & Food — is set to unfold at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz on July 11 and 12. It will feature vintage items, live music, local food trucks, and a kids entrepreneurship market.  WRRV
  • Kevin Farley will perform two Valentine-themed comedy dinner & show events at Laugh It Up Comedy Club on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14 with doors opening at 6 p.m. and showtime at 7 p.m.; tickets include a 5-star buffet dinner, champagne toast & dessert table.  WPDH
  • Bethel Woods has announced an Adult Rock Camp for adults 21+ that will run from Monday, Apr. 6 to June 1 (with May 25 off) in the Hudson Valley. Expert instructors will lead an 8-week evening program with lessons on drums, keyboards, guitar and vocals.  WPDH

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • After heavy snow and a deep freeze left roofs icy (a common winter hazard) from Poughkeepsie to nearby towns, experts warn that rising temperatures next week may melt the ice and cause leaks and damage. Homeowners are advised to clear snow safely or call roofing professionals.  WPDH

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flags were lowered at state buildings on Friday, Jan. 30 to honor retired NY State Police Major Frank J. Keyser who died Jan. 11. A prayer service took place at 11 a.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home in Middletown.  WPDH
  • At Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, five Airmen were named the 2025 Outstanding Airmen of the Year for leadership, performance, and dedication. The winners, including Airman 1st Class Tinatin Sadzaglishvili, will now compete at the state level + set a high standard in their mission.  Mid Hudson News
