  • Flo Rides Trackless Electric Train is offering rides at the Poughkeepsie Galleria and extending service through Easter to let families enjoy a nostalgic ride with realistic sounds and puffs of steam. The ride operates on both indoor and outdoor surfaces for up to 20 passengers.  WRRV

  • Rutgers PhD student Allegra Kuney from West Nyack advanced to the 'Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions' semifinals after a dominant quarterfinal that aired Tuesday, Jan. 20. She answered 21 clues correctly and finished with $18,000, more than the other contestants combined.  Daily Voice

  • A recent study shows New York ranks as the eighth-safest state for truck drivers, offering an average annual salary of $64,410 and a strong safety record despite heavy interstate traffic. The research used federal data from a Texas-based law firm to highlight key crash statistics.  WRRV
  • AARP’s report shows Hudson Valley customers paid nearly $4 million for Central Hudson’s legal defense during four years of rate hikes, and it supports proposals for new laws to limit spending & protect ratepayers from further bill increases.  Hudson Valley Post

  • Mexico tightened its vaping laws effective Jan. 16, banning the import of vaping devices for personal use. Hudson Valley residents planning trips to vacation spots (such as Cancun) may face on-the-spot fines at airports and border crossings and should leave their devices at home.  Hudson Valley Post
  • Assemblyman Beephan urged that NYS Comptroller DiNapoli investigate rising delivery fees from Central Hudson and NYSEG—costs that are straining local families’ budgets and raising transparency concerns.
