- ➤ After Margarita Lekaj was removed last week, the Poughkeepsie City School District named Mike Tuttle as interim assistant superintendent of business. Tuttle (with over 30 years experience) will serve at an annual salary of $200,000. Mid Hudson News

- ➤ Governor Kathy Hochul proposed a $20 million free childcare pilot for Dutchess County during a visit to Poughkeepsie on Jan. 14, with up to 1,000 seats planned for children under three; similar pilots will launch in Broome & Monroe counties next year if approved. 1450 WKIP

- ➤ Retired NYSP major Frank J. Keyser, 65, died on Sunday, Jan. 11 from a 9/11 related illness after a 34-year career protecting the Hudson Valley. He is survived by his wife Louise and son Austin and funeral arrangements will be announced later. Daily Voice
