About this event

Sign Up Organizer Name: Emily Eder

Description: We are taking November to clean up all the plants and materials that have allowed us to grow this season! We'll be pulling plants, t-posts and plastic. This can be a rough and dirty job and is so necessary for us to close out the season. Our farmers will be THRILLED to see you for these shifts to help give us the boost we need to finish out the season strong. This shift may require bending, crouching, kneeling or lifting. This is a 3 hour shift, but you may elect to work only the first 1-2 hours depending on your schedule. Please specify your hours upon arrival when signing in with the CSA & Volunteer Manager, Maddie and let them know any physical restrictions you have while working with us so we can do our best to accommodate you. Questions before you arrive? We strongly recommend wearing layers, sturdy footwear with closed-toe shoes, sunscreen and a hat. Please bring a reusable water bottle. DIRECTIONS Park at the Environmental Cooperative / Vassar Barns lot. Walk down the dirt farm road to the left towards the high tunnels. The farm fields should be on your right. Meet at the wash station (the white tent with wash tubs). PUNCTUALITY AND SIGNING IN Park a few minutes early to allow 5 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the wash station. Please do not be late as we need to know how many people we have in order to divide the work efficiently. Arriving late also means that we need to spend more staff time on busy mornings explaining tasks twice. We understand things happen so if you are more than 5 minutes late, find us in the field. Be sure to sign in with the CSA & Volunteer Manager or a farmer to receive credit for your shift. We look forward to working with you!
