About this event
The Road Back to You by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile offers an accessible and warmly pastoral introduction to the Enneagram, an ancient personality framework that describes nine distinct ways people see the world and protect themselves from it. Cron, an Episcopal priest and writer, and Stabile, a longtime Enneagram teacher shaped by the contemplative tradition, write with humor, honesty, and a steady conviction that self-knowledge is not an end in itself but a doorway to knowing God more truly. After laying out the basics, the authors devote a chapter to each type, grouped by the gut, heart, and head triads. Each chapter explores what drives that type, how it shows up in childhood, relationships, and work, how it shifts under stress and in security, and what paths toward spiritual transformation look like. Throughout, the book invites readers to recognize the false self they have built for survival and to move with grace toward the true self God intends. For a group study, it opens space for laughter, honest confession, and compassion, as participants begin to understand not only themselves but also the people they love, work alongside, and sometimes struggle to understand.
