About this event

Join sisters Julie Peacock and Sara Beck for a cozy Autumn yoga retreat in the heart of New York’s Shawangunk Mountains, in Gardiner, NY. At this transitional time of year, the days are growing shorter, the winds are blowing, and nature is going to sleep. Meanwhile, life remains busy as holidays approach, and our spirits feel the sometimes confusing intensity of this changing season. We are called to follow the way of nature: to add more rest and silence to our days, to reorient towards what is simple and grounding, and to fortify ourselves with warming foods and practices.

As we let go of the abundant busyness of summer, how can we be nourished by stillness, rest and darkness? What new dreams and visions want to be born in us this season? What wants to be composted, like the leaves on the earth, nourishing the ground for new growth? How can the practices of lovingkindness and equanimity meditation support us as we settle into quiet depths of fall and winter?

With a focus on intentional, fortifying movement, contemplation, and inner listening, this retreat experience at the beautiful Groundworks Space will help you cultivate practices of rest, inner listening, and self-care. Daily yoga classes, meditation, guided journaling and self-inquiry, yoga nidra, and restorative breathwork will ground your body and mind into a steady, sweet equanimity during this time of transition. Connection with other women and the opportunity to sweat in the sauna, restore in the hot tub, take walks in nature, and eat delicious food will help you lay a beautiful foundation for the new season ahead.
