Cat Rocks is a 7-mile trip starting off in Pawling, NY at the Metro North Appalachian trail train stop. This hike offers a wide variety of terrain. It starts off meandering along a boardwalk through a swampy area, followed by forest section into an open fields until we see the Dover Oak, the largest blazed oak on the AT. After that we climb up to the Cat Rocks overlook offering a sweeping views of the Harlem Valley. We return to the parking area for a picnic. Hike Rating: B Elevation Gain: 1000 ft

Parking: There is a small parking lot at the metro north Appalachian trail stop. The station is on the left if you are traveling north on Route 22, and is about a 1/4 mile north of Hurds Corners Road. It's tricky to see as it's just a little dirt/grass driveway and the small wooden station is hard to spot from the road. If the tiny space for parking is filled or too muddy you can park just up the road in one of the paved rest stops (on both sides of Route 22) only 100 feet north of the train stop.
